Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Mounjaro® are all available at our practice for those looking to lose weight safely or have obesity-related health issues.

Injectable Medication(s)

Semaglutide (Ozempic® and Wegovy®)

Semaglutide is the active ingredient in Ozempic® and Wegovy®. It is a weekly injectable GLP-1 medication. GLP-1 medications have been approved for type 2 diabetes because they lower blood and raise insulin levels. In addition to their effect on blood sugar and insulin levels, these injections are excellent at promoting weight loss.

Benefits

  • Semaglutide has been FDA approved for type 2 diabetes (2017) and weight loss (2021).
  • In addition to its effects on blood sugar and insulin, studies have shown that Semaglutide provided considerable weight loss (around 15% over 68 weeks).
  • Our Semaglutide injections are compounded medications so the price is not affected by insurance coverage.
  • Semaglutide injections are non-stimulant so they will not affect your blood pressure.

What to Expect

  • GLP-1 medications mimic a hormone called GLP-1 that the body releases after a meal, signaling fullness and lowering appetite. They also slow gastric emptying, so food moves slower through the stomach.
  • You will receive injections that need to be done weekly.
  • You will start on the lowest dose and gradually work your way up.
  • The price of the shot per week is dependent on the dose: 0.25mg (starting dosage) is $80 per shot.
  • You, in consultation with your doctor, will have the option to increase your dose every 4 weeks.

Note: cost per shot increases as dosage increases.

Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®)

Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in Mounjaro®, a weekly injectable GLP-1 medication. GLP-1 medications have been approved for type 2 diabetes because they lower blood sugar and raise insulin levels. In addition to affecting blood sugar and insulin levels, studies have shown these injections are excellent at promoting weight loss.

Benefits

  • Tirzepatide attaches to two different receptors in the brain (GLP-1 and GIP), unlike previous GLP-1 medications, which is only attached to one.
  • Our Tirzepatide injections are compounded medications so the price is not affected by insurance coverage.
  • Tirzepatide injections are non-stimulant so they will not affect your blood pressure.

What to Expect

  • Tirzepatide results in increased overall weight loss (around 20%).
  • The price of the shot per week is dependent on the dose: 2.5mg (starting dosage) is $95 per shot.
  • You, in consultation with your doctor, will have the option to increase your dose every 4 weeks.

Note: cost per shot increases as dosage increases.
